Postpartum Recovery
Your body just did something incredible, but that doesn’t mean you have to bounce back overnight. Postpartum recovery involves much more than just rest. Whether you had a vaginal delivery or C-section, your core, pelvic floor, posture, and joints have all gone through major changes. Leaking, pressure, pain with sex, or core weakness may feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out alone.
At Sparq Physical Therapy in Castle Rock, CO, we provide one-on-one, evidence-based postpartum care that meets you where you are. Our goal is to help you heal, move confidently, and return to your life feeling strong, supported, and empowered.
Affected Area
Postpartum changes often impact the pelvic floor muscles, abdominal wall (including diastasis recti), lumbo-pelvic stability, and posture. Depending on the delivery, healing may also be needed in areas like the perineum, C-section scar, hips, low back, and ribs, all of which play a role in core support and everyday movement.
Symptoms
Common postpartum symptoms include urinary incontinence, pelvic pressure or prolapse, pain with intercourse, diastasis recti (abdominal separation), C-section scar sensitivity, back or hip pain, poor posture, core weakness, and difficulty returning to exercise or daily activities without discomfort or fatigue.
Treatments
Postpartum physical therapy is safe, gentle, and essential, regardless of how long it’s been since delivery. At Sparq PT, we design a personalized plan to support healing and help you reconnect with your body. Your treatment may include:
Pelvic floor assessment and training to restore function and prevent leaking or prolapse
Diastasis recti rehab to safely rebuild your core
Scar mobilization for C-section or perineal scars to reduce tightness and improve comfort
Postural re-education and body mechanics for lifting, feeding, and baby care
Strength and mobility training for the hips, back, and core
Education and pacing for return to exercise, intimacy, and daily movement
Whether you're six weeks or six years postpartum, your recovery matters. We're here to help you feel like yourself again, stronger than ever.
